have you ever physically felt someone's absence? like missing them was a physical thing in your chest, a lump, a tightness?

having taken several of the quizilla 'what sex and the city character are you?' quizzes (yes, i'm obsessed with the show) i think this was one of the best ones. and they all had the same result for me, so they can't be too far off, right?

HASH(0x8bbd1e8)
You're Most Like Miranda! You value intellect and
sensibility, but you want people to see you can
be fun and daring as well. You are very
cynical, and sometimes you use this as a
mechanism to keep people away. But when people
need a shoulder to cry on, your heart melts and
all pretense of fearing emotion goes away.

(a few of) my quirks...

painting my nails late at night... changing the background of my compy and celly compulsively... checking the mail on the way out and disposing of the junk mail on the passenger side floor of my car... having multiple sets of matching scarf, hat, gloves, coat... saving fortune cookie fortunes... buying myself greeting cards just cause i like them... collecting change in a beer stein... checking my email two billion times a day... impulse buying off ebay... listening to only one cd for a few weeks straight, then switching... staying up super late for no good reasons... reading half a book and forgetting about it... picking out clothes the night before and changing my mind in the morning... changing my shampoo/chap stick/candles/body spray/etc according to the season... matching my underwear to my outfit... barely remembering what my natural hair color is... frequently starting to do something and forget what i meant to do... locking my keys in my car...

fleurs
Charles Baudelaire: The Flowers of Evil. You are
one of the most loved and hated poetic works.
Death and decadence are important themes for
you, but none should overlook your impressive
aesthetics, either. Deep down youre not evil at
all, you just like to play the tough guy on the
block.

in a song lyric rut...

any minute now my ship is coming in
i keep checking the horizon
and i'll stand on the bow and feel the waves come crashing
i'm crashing down, down, down on it

and you say, be still my love
open up your heart
let the light shine in
don't you understand
i already have a plan
i'm waiting for my real life to begin

and i woke today suddenly nothing happened
but in my dreams i slew the dragon
and down this beaten path, up this cobbled lane
i'm walking in my old footsteps once again

and you say, just be here now
forget about the past
your mask is wearing thin
just let me throw one more dice
i know that i can win
i'm waiting for my real life to begin

any minute now
my ship is coming in
i'll keep checking the horizon
and i'll check my machine
there's sure to be that call
it's gonna happen soon, soon, oh so very soon
it's just that time's a lead

and you say, be still my love
open up your heart
let the light shine in
don't you understand
oh i already have a plan
i'm waiting for my real life to begin

hey...
on a clear day, i can see, see a very long way
and on a clear day, i can see
see a very long way
