Devotion (for Jack Ridl)
She devotes her life to what
she can live with: shoes, handwritten
notes, pillows, postcards
from foreign countries, summer rain,
picture frames, mountains,
a man to love her like
a black and white photograph,
poems, imperfection, a prayer.
she can live with: shoes, handwritten
notes, pillows, postcards
from foreign countries, summer rain,
picture frames, mountains,
a man to love her like
a black and white photograph,
poems, imperfection, a prayer.

Ohhh... I get it now. You wrote a poem for Jack Ridl inspired by his poem. Brilliant! I like your version. It makes me want to write one of my own!

Oh, super sorry! That was me! I figured the quote on your page was a small section of Jack's poem but I thought the part you wrote was another section of it. Good thing. I almost reposted it on my blog and attributed it to Jack! :) --Bethany
